Time Piece # 4

The watch below is one of the first watches I purchased out of college and it is made by Tissot.  All of Tissot watch’s are made in Switzerland and the brand has been around since 1853. They are considered to be the entry level brand of luxury within the Swatch Group.   Throughout their history they have made watches that are practical and innovative.   The price range for Tissot watches vary from about $350 to $1500.     The movement in the watch above is a ETA G10.211 quartz movement which is also used in some Tag Heuer and Breitling models.

Tissot probably should not be considered  an entry level luxury brand.  A lot of people think that the Rolex is the holy grail of watches and I don’t believe that to be correct. Yes they make excellent time pieces but the average “sales” price of a Rolex is around the $9,500 mark. When you start looking at some names such as Montblanc, H.Moser & Cie, Piaget, Parmigiani, Patek Philippe & Perrelet you will see that that most of the watches in these lines sell upward of 25k.  Some of these brands sell watches that cost over $800,000.

I think I will just stick to my Tissot and other brand names that swim with the little fellas 🙂 .  For entertainment I have listed a few other watch companies that offer watches for an eye rolling amount of money.   No harm in dreaming right?
